GOOD ON ANY MLK BOULEVARD

Last Saturday, we led the annual MLK Parade in Uptown Charlotte, NC with the rest of our brothers. It was foggy, cold, with periods of light rain — felt like Gotham City and we loved it. The best part about this day is that we premiered two new GGU sample products:

The Dove Logo Beanies & The GGU Face Masks.

Both items received positive feedback, and definitely kept us warm during the parade. The face mask serves a purpose, but we noticed that they make people nervous.

“Are you sick?“ — Nah, in Sicko Mode.

“Are you cold?“ — Ice Cold, baby.

GGU strives to be on the cutting edge of fashion/streetwear.

The masks are inspired by the Asian culture. In Japan, they began to wear surgical masks in the early 20th century to combat an influenza outbreak.

In 2002-2006, the U.S. was introduced to the surgical masks being worn in public. during the outbreaks of SARS and The Bird Flu. Asians in NYC could be seen wearing the masks on the 7 Train that connects Manhattan to Queens.

Today, the face masks primarily serve as a fashion statement. They’ve been spotted in Paris during Fashion Week, LA, NYC, and now CLT where we are headquartered.
